Kevin Barry,
with a B.S. in Marine Biology, M.S. and Ed.S. in Science Education,
is an Assistant Director for the Kaneb Center for Teaching and
Learning and a concurrent lecturer in the Alliance for Catholic
Education M.Ed. program. As assistant director of the Kaneb Center
he helps faculty members and TAs choose and implement technology
to enhance teaching and learning. He is also involved in the development
of technology based curriculum resources and the design of teaching
and learning spaces. Kevin has been helping faculty use technology
effectively for more than 10 years.
Thomas
C. Laughner, with an M.A. in Education and Human Development
from George Washington University and a doctoral candidate in
Curriculum and Instruction at Andrews University, is Associate
Director of Educational Technologies and Serices in the Office
of Information Technologies at the University of Notre Dame. Tom's
work involves identifying appropriate technologies to assist in
the teaching and learning process. Tom's current research interests
involve making learning spaces more effective, and creating learning
communities in online courses. Tom is a concurrent lecturer in
the College of Arts and Letters.
Barbara
E. Walvoord, Ph.D., (no longer a presenter) was founding director
of the John A. Kaneb Center for Teaching and Learning, as well
as concurrent Professor of English and Fellow of the Institute
for Educational Initiatives at Notre Dame. 1987 Maryland English
Teacher of the Year, Barbara has lead hundreds of faculty workshops
at institutions across the US, along with publishing widely about
teaching, learning, assessment, and student writing across disciplines.
